An instagram interlude: acceptance and surrender

Pic of Author — May 30th, 2021 — Daytona Beach Shores — Overlooking the Atlantic

I searched inside myself today.

I asked “what must I do to enter into Life rather than be an observer or fighter or attempt to be a shaper of it?”

A friend came along side me and this is what was said..

“You must ACCEPT what you know is true inside you. You must Surrender.”

SURRENDER…

I surrender all of my disappointments to the tides of time, right now.

I am Open to receive the teachings from those things I wish to forget.

When I surrender my attachment to how I wish for things to be, I open up to experience things exactly as they are. If I loosen my grip and meet life with open hands, I am able to receive and release whatever comes to me, even if what comes brings pain.

There is such a beautiful rawness in the heart that is broken open by loss. The depth of my sadness can mirror the depth of my love, my hope, my care. If letting go seems to be impossible, what does my — resistance show me?

Can I express my desires and expectations and be okay with them not being met? Can I open up to loving someone fully, knowing that someday we will part? How can I make amends with my regrets and release their stories, allowing for their teachings to carry me forward?

How much more could I hold if I loosen my grip?

Let go and Let’s GO…
Jeff
